Cranfield Beach

Cranfield Beach is set in an idyllic location at the mouth of Carlingford Lough, with the picturesque Mourne Mountains as a back.

Since the introduction of the prestigious European Blue Flag award in 1987, Cranfield has been continually recognised as a beach that meets strict criteria for water quality and environmental management.

The only southerly facing beach in Northern Ireland enjoys views across Carlingford Lough and up towards Killowen and Warrenpoint. Lifeguards are on duty throughout the summer period with a designated area for swimmers, providing reassurance from the water sport activities taking place in the rest of the bay. The gently sloping beach makes it an ideal location for both swimmers and water sports lovers alike.

Facilities include convenient car parking, childrens play area, tourist information, toilets and showers.
